Ann Sherman....................... Director of Education

Ann is a graduate of Fredonia State College where she earned her degree in Early Childhood Education.  She taught first grade after graduating from college and later worked as an Educational Coordinator in a learning center for children in the downtown area.  Since then Ann has worked as a lead Pre-K teacher, school age coordinator, Assistant Director and later Director.  Ann assisted in “opening the doors” of The Learning Garden in May 2004 and has been the Director of Education since.

Donna Steinwandel............. Infant Program Coordinator

Donna has been a part of The Learning Garden since the beginning in May of 2004.  She has many years experience working in the childcare industry, specializing in the infant and toddler age groups.  Donna has a two-year degree in early childhood education and is gifted working with young children.

Kerry Herman...................... Lead Preschool Teacher

Kerry joined The Learning Garden in September of 2013.  She is a graduate of SUNY Cortland where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood and Childhood Education.  Kerry also holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Educational Computing from Buffalo State College.  Kerry has ten years of experience teaching children ages 6 wks to 12 years of age.  Prior to coming to The Learning Garden, Kerry was a substitute teacher in the Hamburg and Buffalo Schools.

Catherine Jurewicz.............. Infant Program Assistant

Catherine, a graduate of Villa Maria College, has an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and joined our staff in October of 2007.  Catherine has 30 years of experience working with young children.  She is a very kind and loving individual and is truly dedicated to the children in her care. 

Amanda Nicolas................... Toddler Teacher

Amanda is a graduate of West Seneca East High School and came to work at The Learning Garden in October of 2009.  Amanda is a very calm individual and demonstrates a great deal of patience with children.

Caravita Bolognese............. Toddler Assistant

Caravita has worked with the toddler age group since August of 1999.  Prior to opening the doors with us in 2004, Caravita’s previous experience included E.C.C. North Campus Child Care Center and Step-by-Step Daycare.  Caravita is a very affectionate individual who has a definite following with the families she has cared for.  The children simply adore her and look forward to spending time with her on a daily basis.

Tammy Wujek..................... Preschool Assistant

Tammy grew up in California and later came to Buffalo where she met her husband and started her family.  Tammy has prior experience working with kindergarteners and handicapped children.  She is a dedicated individual and thoroughly enjoys working with young children.  Tammy has been a very loyal part of our teaching team since 2007.

Lisa Mayer-….Assistant Teacher in all of the classrooms.

Lisa has an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Villa Maria College and has over 25 years experience working in the Child Care Industry.  She loves working with young children and inspiring their minds.  Lisa joined The Learning Garden in September of 2013.   

Margie Onder……Assistant in all classrooms.

Margie has been an assistant in all of the classrooms at The Learning Garden for a number of years.  Margie is also employed by Aspire of WNY where she is an assistant in the classrooms for children with special needs.  Margie is a very enthusiastic individual and is adored by the children and parents alike.

Julie Wall……Assistant in all classrooms.

Julie joined The Learning Garden in May of 2014.  Julie is a mother of three young children and has been home taking care of them for the last nine years.  Julie has been anxious to get back into the work force and is especially excited to be working here at The Learning Garden.
